Dhrishiv Foundation Hardship Fund Bursary

About the Fund

Dhrishiv Foundation Hardship Fund Bursary is one of our funding programmes, running through number of schools, college and community organisations across in India.

The Hardship Fund Bursary aims to enable individuals achieve their goals who otherwise won’t have achieved due to financial hardships. Dhrishiv Foundation wants young people to raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a positive contribution to their society.

The Bursary works well because communities themselves are involved in nominating and selecting the recipient.

How does the Bursary work?

Schools, College or Community Groups nominate an individual to receive Hardship Fund Bursary (frequency depends on the Funding level) by completing the form together with the individual and submit to Dhrishiv Foundation.
When we have received your application we will be in touch (usually within two weeks)

• to ask for any further information
• to tell you if your application will be put forward to the next stage of assessment and a timetable for a final decision
• or to tell you that we cannot help.

Processing an application and making a grant usually takes between two and six weeks.

If you have received a grant from the Foundation previously, you must wait a year following the end of the grant period before applying again.

If an application is refused, we ask applicants to wait a year before applying again.

In order to apply you must:

• Be based in India
• Have been nominated by a school, clubs or community groups.
• Have been actively studying in a government or national vocational qualification.
• Have not already received any assistance from the foundation in last 12 months.
• Nominated individual prepared to write a brief report on their requirement and the need for funding.
• Be prepared to write a brief report end of the funding to demonstrate how it helped.

The project, activity or event you want to fund must fulfil the following:

• The maximum grant available is INR 5,000 a month - there is no minimum value
• The total bursary must not exceed INR 60,000)
• It must be good value for money
• It must benefit  an individual (not a group)
• It must help young people most in need of support
• The project must be completed within 12 months of funding being awarded
• The nominee or the group proposing who raise a contribution to the project costs themselves will be assessed more favourably

We will not fund:

• Groups who submit incomplete applications
• Activities where the total cost exceeds INR 60,000)
• Individuals that have already been funded in last 12 months
• Applications for projects where statutory provisions have been made
• Applications which are solely asking for funding for non-education related costs
